122 The Roman Emperor Hadrian visited Roman Britain

...  and appointed Aulus Platorius Nepos its Governor.
He was governor of Germania Inferior, close friend and possible kinsman of the Emperor Hadrian and may have accompanied Hadrian on his visit to Britain in 122. In this year he was made governor of Roman Britain and oversaw the construction of Hadrian's WallNepos' huge expenditure on the frontier work however caused him to fall from Hadrian's favour. He was replaced around 125.
